About Ayurveda
Ayurveda is based on a profound and complete understanding of the human being. It is one of the oldest medical systems in practice today. This ancient healing tradition dates back to time immemorial when Indian Seers passed down their extensive knowledge in the form of the Vedic teachings.
The aim of Ayurveda is to ensure a long and healthy life so that we are able to fulfill our duties in this world to the best of our abilities.
In Ayurveda, understanding a disease is based on 3 main functional patterns, or ’Doshas’, that work in nature and also in our bodies: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. The ’Doshas’ directly relate to the five great elements of Pritvi, Ap, Tejas, Vayu and Akasha, that exist in every life form and within every material manifestation.
The deep knowledge and understanding of these elements that is found in Ayurveda is the basis for Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment. Ayurvedic healers select appropriate medicines and treatments, while empowering patients with key advice on proper diet and routine activities that combined bring long-lasting and deep healing as per each individual’s particular needs.
Ayurvedic medicines are made from completely natural substances including roots, barks, seeds, fruits and others, which are prepared according to ancient recipes. Producing Ayurvedic medicines can take weeks, months, and sometimes even years, with many intricate steps and a variety of ingredients involved in an individual composition.
At we believe that medicines, diet and activity recommendations have to work hand-in-hand and cannot be separated. |

Natural Healing on Bali
Bali is recognized throughout the world as a unique island, which is inhabited by friendly and kind people who live amidst stunning natural beauty.
On this world-renowned ’Island of the Gods’ magical and mystical powers, generally connected with ancient healing and spiritual wisdom, abound even in this modern day. These powers are an integral part of Balinese life, and they can be felt and seen by sensitive and perceptive visitors to the island.
Daily rituals, ceremonies and offerings to the ancestors and deities contribute to an atmosphere that is very conducive for any spiritual practice and for all aspects of healing and personal transformation.
The areas surrounding Ubud have been attracting visitors from throughout the world, who come here to learn about Meditation and Yoga, and / or seek advice and treatment for health related issues.
The name ’Ubud’ is derived from an ancient Javanese word ’Ubad’ which literally translates as ’medicine’. From its very inception, this lovely village and the surrounding areas have been home to a wide variety of healers, healing traditions, spiritual guides, meditation teachers, Yoga classes and healthful foods.
Bali’s healing traditions, luscious tropical climate and fertile volcanic soils have created a home for an enormous heritage of precious medicinal herbs. Many of the key herbs and plants that are the basis for medicinal preparations in Ayurveda’s native India, are also found on Bali. |

Ayurveda & Yoga
Ayurveda and Yoga are ’sister sciences’ in so far as they have the same philosophical foundation (Samkhya). These two approaches to long-lasting well being complement each other very well.
While Ayurveda is more concerned about supporting and reestablishing the unfoldment of life within the individual, Yoga deals with the question of how to grow towards a more meaningful existence.
The first 4 of the 8 aspects of ’Patanjali’s Asthanga Yoga’ can be connected to Ayurvedic treatments, regimen and medicine in so far as they are very much related to the individuals’ health and well-being.
Practicing ’Yama’ and ’Niyama’ not only prevents disease but also prepares us for the practice of ’Asana’. Correctly practiced, ’Asana’ and ’Pranayama’ have always therapeutic effects, in particular by increasing ’Jathara Agni’, which aids in the reduction of ’Ama’ or toxins. Asana and Pranayama also balance the vital energetic currents and various functions in the body.
At we believe that Yoga is the ideal way to support the treatments and healing progress of patients. We therefore offer personalized Yoga tuition either separately or as part of our overall treatment plan. |
