Study: Rheumatoid Arthritis & Ayurveda
This research survey study ‘Rheumatoid Arthritis & Ayurveda’ was conducted between 1977 and 1984 by the Ayurveda Trust in Tamilnadu, India, in collaboration with the WHO and ICMR. This study focuses on the efficacy and safety of Ayurvedic treatments for Rheumatoid Arthritis in a group of patients. 33 out of 100 patients of this group, steroidal and non-steroidal, who were diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis by the allopathic system, had undergone Ayurvedic treatments for 1 year. The steroidal and non-steroidal groups were evaluated every 6 weeks, based on ARA criteria and blood tests and the results showed a faster recovery rate in the latter group. The final results confirmed the effectiveness of Ayurvedic treatments in Rheumatoid Arthritis.
