According to the Ayurvedic doctrine, each person carries three vital, bio-energetic regulatory principles, which are called doshas. These three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha are present in different compositions in each person and it is this individual composition of the doshas in each person that determines his/her Ayurvedic type or prakriti – the person’s individual constitution from an Ayurvedic perspective. The composition of these three doshas is a delicate balance that can be disturbed by various external and internal factors such as stress or diet. A disturbance of this balance causes individual doshas to manifest as disease over time. It is the duty of the Ayurvedic physician to diagnose which dosha is out of balance and precribe measures such as treatments, herbal remedies, dietary and lifestyle changes to re-eastablish the equilibrium of the doshas and prevent diseases from developing.
Symptoms that point at a disturbed dosha balance include impaired digestion, foggy brain, heavy and sluggish body feeling upon waking, lack of enthusiasm, inflammation, body aches and pains, dull looking skin etc. Precisely these symptoms are the reason why many people come to our resort for a vibrant Ayurveda treatment protocol. If you experience any of these mentioned symptoms, acting early can prevent many serious health problems like diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, cancer, degenerative neurological problems or skin diseases from developing. In the course of an Ayurvedic program, we determine your individual Ayurvedic constitution and imbalances and create a treatment plan tailored to you personally. The program includes very specific, individually tailored Ayurvedic treatments and medicines, activities like Yoga, Meditation and breathing exercises, as well as individually prepared, personalized nutrition.
